Enhancing Access to Quality Child Care, Together

Child Care Connections (CCC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Gallatin, Park, Meagher, Lewis & Clark, Jefferson, and Broadwater counties, provides invaluable support to families and early childhood professionals in our community. Their mission is to enhance the quality of and access to childcare, advocating for the well-being and quality care of children by supporting early childhood professionals, families, and the communities they serve. Over the years, Child Care Connections has remained a dedicated partner of the Greater Gallatin United Way (GGUW), working tirelessly to improve the quality and accessibility of childcare services in our communities.

Amidst the growing demand for affordable childcare solutions, amplified by the hurdles of the COVID-19 pandemic, Child Care Connections has pioneered innovative programs to connect families with high-quality childcare services. Among these initiatives is the Gap Scholarship Program (GSP), unveiled in August 2022, supported by GGUW and other vital partners. Tailored to address the affordability gap in childcare, the GSP extends temporary financial aid to families grappling with income constraints and limited access to licensed childcare facilities.

Through the Gap Scholarship Program, CCC offers scholarships of up to $2,500 per household, empowering families to re-enter the workforce, maintain employment, and access essential childcare services during emergencies. Unlike existing assistance programs such as the Best Beginnings Scholarship, the Gap Scholarship Program expands eligibility criteria and provides more flexible support, ensuring that more families can access quality childcare without enduring undue financial strain.

However, the Gap Scholarship Program surpasses mere financial aid by providing personalized support through CCC's dedicated Family Engagement Coordinator. Through one-on-one meetings, families receive invaluable guidance in navigating additional resources and support services, fostering long-term stability and success.

CCC's initiatives extend beyond providing assistance; they aim to cultivate a thriving community. By empowering parents to work, pursue education, or expand their businesses, CCC ignites a cycle of prosperity that benefits families, communities, and small businesses alike.

GGUW takes pride in being part of CCC's vital work. At its core, CCC's dedication to quality, affordable childcare embodies a broader vision of ensuring every child in Montana has the opportunity to thrive. By standing alongside families and early childhood professionals, CCC epitomizes the spirit of community partnership and collective action, bringing tangible change to the lives of our youngest citizens. Together, we are laying the groundwork for a brighter tomorrow.
