We are proud to announce this year's guest speaker for our Annual Campaign Kickoff Meeting will be Robert J. Watson, EdD, Executive Director, School Administrators of MT (SAM). Mr. Watson has been a long time supporter of Greater Gallatin United Way and served on the board of directors for six years. During Dr. Rob Watson's education career of nearly 30 years he has served as a teacher in Anchorage, AK, adjunct faculty at both MSU and UM, middle school assistant principal in Anchorage, Great Falls, and Missoula, principal of Sentinel High School in Missoula, principal of Bozeman High School, superintendent of Bozeman School District 7 and superintendent of Missoula County Public Schools. He was named the 2018 Montana Superintendent of the Year. A 10-year AASA member, Watson received his Ed.D. from the University of Montana. In addition to his great service to schools in Montana, Rob currently represents Montana administrators on the Certification Standards and Practices Advisory Council (CSPAC), an advisory council of practitioners to the Montana Board of Public Education. At the national level, Rob has served on the Learning First Alliance and is one of eight secondary principals in the nation to develop comprehensive guidelines for principal evaluation.
Dr. Watson’s wealth of experience, collaborative abilities, and commitment to action for the education of Montana’s students has earned the respect of not only the education community but of all Montanan’s who have had the opportunity to engage with him.
