South Central Montana is our home. The story of home promises a place for everyone — a place that offers security, safety, inclusion, prosperity. Low-income kids become trapped in a cycle that becomes harder and harder to break as they get older. Stand with us behind the idea that their success is our success. Together, we can break the cycle at the source — giving kids and families in poverty the chance all of us deserve.  We start by giving low-income kids a fair shot at success in school, which we...

Dear BSD7 Staff and Community Supporters... I wanted to take a moment this week to discuss something that is critical to the success of our schools - community partnerships.  We know that our students experience success because of their hard work, the support of their families and the support of our dedicated staff.  But we also know that it takes an entire community of supporters to make our District successful.  And two of our strongest community partners are Greater Gallatin United Way & THRIVE - Both of these organizations celebrated major milestones this year and should be congratulated.  The highly successful THRIVE CAP program...

Several hundred supporters gathered for the annual luncheon.  Governor Steve Bullock was the keynote speaker. He focused on early-childhood education. Bullock said, "I really appreciate what the Greater Gallatin United Way has done for our earliest learners. And in addition, I know you do so much more." "I mean you're making sure that kids have a safe place to go and a constructive place after school. You're making sure that they have some food in their tummies. But you've also really put a focus on early learning, what can happen from zero to five," he said. The organization also honored several of its donors.  Joe and Janet...

Helping to improve lives in our community... Greater Gallatin United Way helped sponsor Project Homeless Connect again this year. In addition, with the help of Target and Barnes & Noble, we were able to supply "goody" bags for children and families. The bags contained hats, mittens, books for Pre-k to 6, games, and more. We are thankful for our many partners who participate in this event and thank GGHAC and all it's volunteers! ----- Thanks to dozens of volunteers and generous community members, those in need are getting connected today with vital services in Bozeman. “We have 33 students enrolled in Afterschool this month which is HUGE for us in October.  We had 12 enrolled this time last year.  We have also welcomed a special needs student this year who is adjusting quite well to the program but does require some extra attention. With this being said, I am working harder to invite some upper class students to join us so that we can meet the needs of our young learners, as well as incorporate the older students into the program.  I have met with one of the kindergarten teachers to get some help on providing more activities for our K and 1st graders who have no homework during our homework time.  This is...
