Mammogram Project

A collaborative effort...

The Mammogram Project offers free or reduced-cost screening and diagnostic mammograms to qualified women under the age of 40 or over the age of 65 who are uninsured or under-insured.  Bozeman Deaconess Health Education Center distributes information and applications and Bozeman Deaconess admisters the funds.

Every year, nearly 40,000 women in the United States die from breast cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. Breast cancer afflicts women in all socioeconomic levels of society, but often, it is those with inadequate health plan coverage and/or income who aren’t diagnosed until it is too late.

The process begins with an application. All information on the application is kept private. Contact the Health Information Center for more information on this life-saving program today.

The Mammogram Project partners with the Breast and Cervical Health Program (BCHP), administered by the Gallatin City/County Health Department.  BCHP screens women between 40 and 65 who are income-eligible for both breast and cervical cancer.  With a positive diagnosis for cancer, if eligible, women may receive free treatment as part of their grant.
