Keeping kids on track to achieve their full potential...
Greater Gallatin United Way investment goals are focused on three building blocks of a strong community: Education, Health, and Income. These building blocks are intertwined. If one is not available, the current and future health of the community is weakened. We are fortunate to have key partners across all sectors.
Keeping kids on track to achieve their full potential starts at birth. Did you know 3,200 students dropped out of High School in Montana in 2010? High School dropouts are not created in high school. Today, we can identify those likely to drop
out by 3rd grade. Armed with knowledge, Greater Gallatin United Way and our community partners engage in the following:
- Support services and advocates for children who are neglected, abused, or in need of a caring adult to help shape their futures.
- Convene SUCCESS BY 6, a coalition of committed community leaders invested in healthy early childhood development and school readiness; fund programs and activities that support and provide parent tools for early learning.
- Directly administer and support Greater Gallatin United Way's initiative, providing 23 out-of-school program sites serving 1,000 children regularly. Program provides a safe place, good nutrition, healthy physical activities, homework assistance and/or tutoring and other enrichment activities to support their social, emotional, and academic success
- Convene GRADUATION MATTERS, a coalition of key stakeholders committed to sharing resources and raising voices with the goal of increasing high school graduation rates.
- Fund prevention and intervention programs for children and parents in order to increase healthy behaviors in the 5-18 year old population.
