| Message from the Volunteer Campaign Chair
Dear Friend,
Your community needs you. You can create a brighter future.
Whether your gift is $5, $50, $500 or more, it is vital that you join other people from across the community to tackle the issues that improve the lives of your family, friends, and neighbors. Because you win when a child succeeds in school, when a family becomes financially stable, and when people have good health.
Rather than measure the past year in terms of fear and loss, please join in celebrating the outstanding results.
~Distributing $538,974 in grants to area nonprofits that feed our hungry families, that ensure seniors receive critical nutrition and transportation, that give all parents tools to succeed, that speak on behalf of abused and neglected children, that answer crisis calls and prevent suicide, that shelter those in need
~Adopted a program, Volunteer Connections of Greater Gallatin United Way , with a purpose of connecting people who want to help with organizations who need their help (http://www.greatergallatinunitedway.org/, then ‘volunteer’)
~Partners with Bozeman Deaconess Health Services and Advanced Imaging to ensure 100 women will have mammograms, a potential life-saving procedure
~Working with schools, new after school programs were added, providing safety and activities for another 120 children and their working families, bringing the total kidsLINK participants to over 900 at 21 different sites
~Partners HRDC, Family Promise, Help Center , Gallatin Mental Health Services, OPA, Job Services, the faith community and others, formed a coalition to address homelessness and help prevent homelessness in the first place
~Promoting literacy and reading to children 0-5, we are distributing over 2000 books to children from age 0 through eighth grade, thanks in part to the customers of Borders Bookstore in Bozeman who purchased many of the books
Make a decision today to help. Live united. Give. Advocate. Volunteer.
Respectfully,
Volunteer Board Chair, Rick Ojala
P.S: Our goal is 1000 new donors. Last year, 400 new donors joined. Now, 600 are needed to reach the goal. If you are a donor, thank you. If not, please become one.
